Nancy is a life-long artist, and has always known that she wanted to be an artist . Her mother was extremely talented in both fashion design and the culinary arts while her grandfather raised five children on what he was able to make as an artist. Nancy took art lessons and competed in art shows from the time she was in first grade, never receiving less than first place in every competition she was ever in. She graduated Magna cum Laude with a BFA degree in Drawing and Painting from Lake Erie College in Painesville, Ohio. She became an advertising artist out of college and painted portraits and other artwork for her own pleasure. Eventually Nancy attended the State University of New York at Buffalo for her master's degree to become a high school and college teacher. While teaching Nancy started NCM Studio, inc. in 1990 as a custom design dinnerware company. Soon custom corporate gifts and awards in crystal and porcelain were added to the offerings. As her business grew, she hired more artists and found herself in the position of handling sales. Nancy had managed to get herself out of the mindset that sales were intimidating and downright scary as her business grew.
Jim, the Vulcan in the family, started out his career in banking. Working in the treasury department, then warehouse lending, he quickly became upper management before moving into a new career with a company who creates custom designed software for the banking industry. Jim is organized and logical to the extreme, making him and Nancy the perfect pair for a well run business. Jim and Nancy have two boys, JT and Kevin, who when younger were also an integral part of NCM Studio, inc. The boys helped in almost all aspects of the business right beside their parents. Today, JT is training to be an Air Force pilot after graduating with an Electrical Engineering degree...Kevin is a Captain in the United States Army. Kevin married in June of 2006 to Kimberly, the daughter we always dreamed of having. Along with her own travel agency business, she finds time to help out with our business too.
After her experiences with her own company, Nancy felt that she could help other artists promote their work. 4 the Arts. com came from the realization that most artists prefer not to market their own art. They would be far happier spending all their time in the studio creating rather than having to worry about sales. So, in an effort to help promote really good art by very talented artists, 4 the Arts.com was born! We are a very new company with lots of experience behind us...and are starting out very small, but watch out...we're on a mission to bring talented artists with exceptional artwork to YOU!
